Mkhawar

In the heart of old Dubai, Zahra’s atelier, Dar Al-Zahra, was known for creating the most luxurious mkhawer in the Gulf — elegant dresses woven with silk, gold thread, and stories.

Each Ramadan, Zahra unveiled one masterpiece. This year, it was “Al-Layali” — a deep blue mkhawar embroidered with silver stars and sapphires, scented with oud, capturing the magic of the desert night.

At the Abu Dhabi gala, Princess Reem wore it, turning every head. The mkhawar shimmered as if the sky itself had been stitched into its fabric.

Billionaires offered millions. Zahra refused.

Instead, she gave it to Amal, a young fashion student volunteering at the event.

“Luxury isn’t what you wear,” Zahra whispered. “It’s what you carry inside.”
